A few months back I started reading The Gunslinger. I found it pretty slow all the way through to the end. I mean, it wasn't really bad at all, it just never really "kicked off"; I never got that "Wow!" feeling.

After I finished The Gunslinger I decided to take a break before embarking on The Drawing of the Three, reading a few other books inbetween.

And now, some three months later and a bunch of books read, I've decided the time is right to continue my journey alongside Roland. I picked it up the other day and so far I can say it's not as slow as The Gunslinger; Roland's gruesome experience on the beach sure kept me reading. ...Here's hoping... :-)

Edit February 4: Sleepy people don't read very fast... I've passed the halfway mark (ie, flipped past the images stuffed in the center of the book) and so far it's been a good journey. A really good one, at that. :-)

Some days I feel a bit like this cactus, but without the random passer-by's...

I have a friend who, I believe, thinks I'm an idiot. I don't know if I can prove her wrong..

The reason is basically that I'm not keeping up to date with awesome TV-shows, something she's been hounding me about for a while. I'm not much a "viewer" these days (I fall asleep so damn easily) but she's pretty stubborn (and I want to stay on her good side), so what's a guy to do?

She handed me the first seasons of both Oz and The Wire to get me going. I decided to start with Oz as it had fewer episodes...

To my surprise Oz was an alright show. Sure, it's rather incoherent at times and I got lost between episodes, but the characters are pretty interesting. Especially poor Tobias Beecher. Damn...

I'm watching The Wire now, two episodes down so far. I quite like it, quite a lot. I've never been a huge fan of police series (except maybe NYPD Blue when I was younger) but this is pretty good. :-)

Edit January 22: I'm taking it rather slow, but with 5 episodes down I'M HOOKED. The Wire is fcking awesome! Thanks for opening my eyes, girl! :-)

I've gotten a few "explosive" shirts over the last couple of weeks; BOOM and Things that go Boom... I also got a few game-shirts; The Red Bomber (ie, more of that which go boom), Katamari Devolution and 16 Bit Recession. Cool stuff. :-)
