I'm a bit of a sucker when it comes to postponing stuff, regardless if it's a thing I need to do or if it's just something I do for fun. It's like, the minute I start to think of whatever it is I do as a chore, I pull away.

I'm really bad with finishing games, I start playing, and even though I enjoy the games, the further and further I get the more reluctant to playing. It's crazy..

Now, I've decided to put up a goal to finish that don't require all that much effort on my side. I'm gonna grow my hair long enough that I can put it in a proper pony tail. Yeah, I know - that's silly right? :D The thing is, I only need to grow my hair a little little longer (bout 10cm's or so, so not all that little) and I'll be able to put it up in a pony tail. Yay!

After reading up on the subject of hair-growth, that's only another 5ish months to go. Hooray!

I like to read. Books, magazines, comics, you name it (as long as the topic's within interrest). I usually read a few pages before going to sleep, or fall asleep reading (either way).

I don't like laying on my back, because my bed don't allow for half-sitting, so there's no comfort in doing so, resorting to laying on my stomach. Every now and then I've found that when I'm half asleep while reading, and stubborn enough to try and fight it (but losing), I lock my neck and shoulders to keep my head up, close my eyes to doze of for a few, and......unvoluntarily hold my breath. Wtf!?

It's kind of scary, actually. Every time I wake up with a gasp and my eyes go O_O as I draw a deep breath, trying to figure out what the hell just happened.

Is my body perhaps trying to kill me?

My brother calls me a weeaboo. Boo hoo, a weeaboo. But what does it mean?

Weeaboo, also known as 'wapanese', is a slang word used to describe “someone who is obsessed with Japan, Japanese Culture, Anime, etc. and attempts to act as if they were Japanese, even though they're far from it.”

Now, I'm not obsessed with either Japan, the Japanese culture or anime, nor do I act as if I were Japanese, but I am sporting a growing interest. There's a lot of the Japanese culture and traditions that I would like to try, take a part in and taste for myself. I won't dig deep into any of them here, but mention a few things.

For instance, the futon sounds and looks really comfortable and is said to be great to sleep on if you have a bad back. Guess what, I got one of those. A bad back that is, not a futon.

Japan is known for a lot of strange food, for good and for bad. Everyone knows of sushi - rice and raw fish (optionally wrapped in seaweed and dipped in soy). It's quite delicious. Something that looks rather suspicious but is rumored to be tasty is the chocolate larva, a creepy looking candy grub. Another thing i wanted to try is the canned bishoujo bread... Canned bread?!

I'm doing a self-study on speaking Japanese (I'll write more on that later on) and am concidering taking a course in Japanese at some stage. (I decided to learn to speak before I learn to write, because my brother took a few classes at some stage and the pace was rather high - it'd give some advantage knowing a little bit more beforehand, I'd hope).

Yeah, so that was a little out-of-context about Japan and stuff. I'm pondering a bigger purpose of this blog, and the topic of Japan might just be it. Just might. We'll see.

More or less two weeks have passed now and I have 'wasted' half of my vacation on, well, nothing really. Awesome.

As you could probably gather from previous posts I've spent some of the time watching anime, and I've actually watched more series than I've written about. I've started a few sucky reviews but never finished them. I should make a separate blog, just for the anime I guess, like I did with WoW over at Ogremound.. Wonder if I should get a new domain, just for that.. Heh. Started watching Ergo Proxy yesterday. It's pretty cool, real nice animations!

Thanks to my brother, I now have a new chassi. It's a Silverstone Kl01 and he won it in a contest. To make a (not so) long story shorter, the monitor he's using is mine and I originally bought it for myself. But it was too small for my taste, so I let him use it. When he won the chassi we decided to swap, and I'm a happy bunny.

I've spent some of the time reading and a few days ago I finished a book called Darkling by Yasmine Galenorn. A review is in the works. Currently I'm working my way through Dragons of Autumn Twilight by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

We've watched a bunch of movies, the latest was Ratatouille which were a bunch of fun. We've also wandered through the Star Wars saga (one of my brothers hadn't seen any of the movies), and we're down to watching episode II and ending with III (obviously we decided to watch it in the right order, only halfly regarding episodes I-III as even part of the saga).

That's about it. There's probably more trivial stuff that's been going on, but who's interrested anyways? :-]

I decided to rewrite this post, because I felt what I originally wrote trivialized the intent and held me back a little in learning Japanese.

So, starting from the top, I have decided to try and learn to speak and better understand Japanese. I've been wanting to for quite some time, it's a pretty interresting language, but it wasn't until a while ago when a friend introduced me to the Pimsleur Method that I decided to give it a go.

Basically what you do is listen and repeat, it's not much harder than that. What's hard is to remember all the new words and phraces, and the way they build sentences in Japanese, it's a little bit different from English -- or Swedish, for that matter (though the course is in English).

So far I've gone through two of the lessons and I remember about 70-80% of what I'm taught (which is alright, concidering), but I still need to go back, repeat, and repeat again. Still have lots to learn.. :-]
